Assistant Equipment Manager – Limestone University

Limestone University, a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and associate member of Conference Carolinas, invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Assistant Equipment Manager.

Job Overview – The successful candidate will assist the Equipment Manager with the ordering, receiving, inventory, distribution/collection, and maintenance of all uniforms, apparel, and equipment for all varsity athletic programs in the Athletic Department.  The primary sport responsibility will be football.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Responsible for the distribution/collection, inventory, and maintenance of football equipment and apparel to the student-athletes, coaches, and staff
  • Inspect, evaluate, and maintain football equipment to ensure it is kept in top working condition and meets safety standards
  • Ensure that all football equipment and apparel needs are addressed during practices and games
  • Execute the transportation of football equipment to and from all home and away games
  • Assist in the execution of laundry services for all varsity athletic programs following practices, games, and training sessions
  • Assist the Equipment Manager in training, supervising, and scheduling of student staff
  • Prepare staging and presentation of facilities for tours and recruiting visits
  • Maintain accurate inventory of team equipment and apparel, and initiate requests for replenishment
  • Maintain records of equipment and apparel distributed to student-athletes for assigned sports

Minimum Qualifications –

  • High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Limestone University, the SAC, Conference Carolinas, and the NCAA
  • Proficiency with personal computer applications
  • Willingness and ability to work cooperatively with coaches and athletic department staff
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • AEMA Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours –

  • Ability to drive a light truck with transporting equipment
  • Considerable work time outside in various weather conditions
  • Heavy lifting, carrying equipment, walking
  • Operating industrial laundry equipment
  • Significant weekend hours
