The Graduate Assistant Equipment Manager will work with the Head Equipment Manager to support the equipment operations for the football team. One position is available.
Responsibilities:
- Execute laundry service for athletic teams
- Assist in receiving and sending out all Adidas Team Apparel orders.
- Game day setup of uniforms and equipment.
- Assist in running football practice.
- Assist in prepping, loading, and unloading of the truck for away games.
- Assist with hosting officials and visiting teams.
- Maintain and repair equipment.
- Assist in the supervision of work study students.
- Inventory and collect equipment and uniforms.
- Adhere to all sport governing, department, and institutional rules and policies.
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in the personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes and learning about this functional area within an athletic department.
- Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior to assist sport programs in pursuing their goals.
- Assist in some minor tasks from other athletic teams on campus.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Efficiently and effectively complete tasks assigned by full-time equipment coordinators.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Previous experience in athletic equipment management or a related field.
- Knowledge of various sports equipment and safety standards.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the sports season.
- Bring a good attitude and help to make the work environment fun.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of a 3.0.
- Employment begins for the summer semester (June 3, 2024)
All Graduate Assistantships must be accepted and continue to take a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester, seeking a graduate degree at Missouri State University. - The Graduate assistant will have their tuition covered and will receive a $1,000 stipend per month.
